Bridge Crossing ur outdoor activities now include ATV interpretative tours just outside Fox Lake and the new Spanish River Valley Provincial Park wilderness areas. It is our goal to combine ethical, safe and fun 'ATVing' with those who love to explore older growth forest, pristine creeks, remote lakes, old roads and trails not accessible in a simple (or intense!) day's walk.- Not to mention, the areas which we love to share with you are loaded with soon to be forgotten remnants of logging camps and ghostly cabins of the years not so long ago.

ATV touring at Fox Lake is not complete without our picnic lunch (see our in-house menu for details) prepared fresh the day of departure. Homemade apple pie and hot coffee on Pumphouse Creek, surrounded by pines is not an everyday experience for most!

At Fox Lake Lodge we are very pleased to now offer 'ATVing' (one person per machine) as part of our outdoor programming. It is important to note that all our 2001/02 Honda TRX ATVs have the easy-to-use electric shift and come with helmets, goggles (including for eye glasses), gloves and rainwear. Also, any machine rented from Fox Lake Lodge will include a detailed safety and introduction to the ATV and be accompanied by one of our experienced interpreters on your excursion. - This bonus is already included in our daily rental fees as outlined in our rates . We also invite you to bring your own machine(s) and to let you know along with our great hospitality we have available...
  • Extensive mapped trail
  • In-door parking
  • Pressure washer (small fee applies)
  • Partnership with local (Sudbury) ATV dealerships allowing you access to parts and quick repairs for most makes and models.

Off-Road Policies and Procedures at Fox Lake

Along with our 30-45 minute 'hands-on' ATV orientation we have put together some points (see below) to help us accomplish our goal of keeping ATV tours at Fox Lake Lodge and the surrounding environment a tranquil setting for you and fellow guest to enjoy for years to come. Our livelihood, your safety and the safety of our clients depends on these policies and procedures being followed. We will not compromise.

Our main objective in our off- road programming is to support safe and ethical off-road- riding for the enjoyment of all, while consciously working to maintain and protect the fragile environment in which we all live and want to continue to enjoy.

  • When renting ATVs from Fox Lake Lodge our insurance policy requires that you provide a credit card i.e. VISA or MasterCard  (in the rare case of damage),  possess a valid auto insurance policy and a class G driver's license
  • Thanks to Ministry of Natural Resources we can offer you detailed Ontario Land Base Maps (OLBM) (property of the MNR). However please be advised that these are to be used as a tool to assist you as a guide only, not as your only tool for direction. The trail conditions change regularly offering unknown dangers every day you ride. -You are responsible for finding your way around safely and responsibly.
  • All trails are on crowned land. In the Woods Inc.'s staff can offer suggestions and act as trail interpreters however, each trail possesses dangers which can cause death. In the Woods Inc. is not responsible for trail conditions and bridges and/or accidents caused by you or another driver. You are solely responsible for your own well being when riding the trails at Fox Lake and area
  • Due to large rocks, fallen trees and washouts trail conditions change regularly, we strongly suggest exercising caution with acceleration and excessive (any) speed.
  • We strongly recommend the use of a GPS (Global Positioning System), compass, or hiring a guide from Fox Lake.
  • As will be outlined to you when acquiring the use of OLBMs in respect to canoeing, mountain bike riding and hiking, we ask that you do not drive your machines into/past the Spanish River Valley Provincial Park boundaries to the Spanish River. – We have lots of trails and sights to share so let’s all respect what makes each activity/sport unique so we can keep a good thing going!
  • With regard to the trails in our area we request you stay on the trails outlined on maps provided and absolutely no garbage is to be left behind from your day of riding
  • Fox Lake Lodge will not support the use of machines which are unsafe, extremely loud or cause exccessive damage to the environment. In respect to our guests, and the environment which supports us, anyone bringing in such a machine will be asked to leave immediately.
  • Once inside the gates of Fox Lake Lodge we ask that you respect our speed limit posted and drive directly to parking. Anyone doing ‘cat walks’, ‘wheelies’, driving faster then speeds posted or not observing the policy and procedures stated will be asked to leave the grounds of Fox Lake Lodge immediately.
  • All motorcycles and ATVs that come into Fox Lake Lodge's property are parked in a designated parking area. Machines parked overnight will be stored in our garage (locked at all times) specifically for ATVs and motorcycles. - For security please let main office know the time you would like to access your machine for the next day and an attendant will be there to met you.
  • Motorcycles and ATVs are not to be driven to cabins or the main lodge at any time.
  • Motorcycles and ATVs are expected to be operated only between the hours of 8:00am and 9:00pm, seven days a week. With two stroke engines or machines with altered mufflers you may be required to walk/push them out to main gate before starting.
  • To operate any machine within the gates of Fox Lake Lodge we require the operator to wear a helmet
  • Fox Lake Lodge will assist drivers who get stuck and/or have equipment failure. However assistance will be given when staff is available and a fee will apply to cover our cost.
  • Drinking & driving is ‘zero tolerance’ at Fox Lake Lodge.

We hope the above polices and procedures are seen as simple and straight forward. If you have suggestions on how we can make things more clear, fairer or even if you simply see something we might have overlooked, we would appreciate any feedback. We want your stay and ride at Fox Lake to be an experience which will bring you back to share with your friends and family for years to come.
